1 Training, Now the Pre season training has finished the Seasons evening training schedule will start. The first evening session will be as of your 1st training day in October.
Evening Training
u11’s & u13’s – Wednesday Evenings from 5pm (check with your coach for start and finish times)
u15’s & u17’s – Monday & Thursday Evenings start from 5pm, the Thursday evenings include some joint training with the senior club to help with the transition of junior players into the development development teams on a Saturday afternoon.
2 Coaching - we have been lucky to gain the assistance of some great coaches to help our team coaches, so once again every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights there will be extra coaching and technique sessions to help the players attain the best they can from their cricket. This year we have:
Saliya, as the Head Coach for the Junior Section of the club, Saliya is committed to junior coaching and has great plans for the development of the junior section this year. Saliya is an ex Sri Lankan test player who has coached the Hawthorn district side and at the cricket centre.
Other Assistant coaches include - Paul Young, James Morris, Ian Bhungard, Jarrod Bradley, Steve Aldens, Luke Rose and many other part time helpers from the senior section.
3 Junior Section Sponsors – this year we welcome 2 new sponsors onboard, and say welcome back to a few of old favourites. New additions include BTAS a telephony Supply and Support Company and BoardworX for all Skate, Ski & Surf fashion. 4 iPOD Raffle – GetMac, have once again donated some iPOD’s (1 iPOD Classic and 2 shuffles) to help the Mulgrave Cricket Club Junior section raise much needed funds to pay for the extra coaching clinics. To help fund this we need to sell Raffle Tickets, please buy some for yourselves and take some to sell to other if you can.

Christmas Break-Up day
Over the past few years we have built the Christmas break-up into a very successful event for both the Junior and senior clubs. This year we holding it on Sunday 14th December and taking it to the next level. Moving it to the Sunday afternoon will mean the Juniors v’s Seniors game will be able to be run at a more agreeable time, Farther Christmas will visit whilst the youngest of us are still awake, the BBQ will be available for the seniors and juniors at the same time and we will be able to supply more entertainment such as bouncy castle and face painting for the kids. If you have any ideas of how we could add any more to this major family event pls let us know.
6 Team support
Coaches and Team Managers require your help, the team can’t exist with out the help and support of the parents. Please remember this is not a day care, you will be required to do your bit. Please volunteer for Team manager and support roles, the team needs you and if you leave it all to one or two parents the support structure will collapse very quickly.
